It is a unique natural area full of stone massifs, crystalline lakes and nature in its purest state. If you are wondering what to do in El Chalt\u00e9n, today we tell you some ideas.<\/p>\r\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\r<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tolkeyenpatagonia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/chalten-821930_960_720.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14095\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El Chalt\u00e9n is located in the province of Santa Cruz, in the heart of Los Glaciares National Park and is considered the national trekking capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Chalt\u00e9n can be easily accessed from El Calafate, since it is 220 kilometers away. In fact, the road linking both points is considered one of the most beautiful in the country due to the dazzling views of the Fitz Roy and Torre peaks. At the same time, it is very easy to see guanacos and hares along Route 40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n&#13;\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">&#13;\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"789\" height=\"437\" class=\"wp-image-7056 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tolkeyenpatagonia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/entrada-chalten-Patagonia-Argentina.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tolkeyenpatagonia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/entrada-chalten-Patagonia-Argentina.jpg 789w, https:\/\/tolkeyenpatagonia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/entrada-chalten-Patagonia-Argentina-740x410.jpg 740w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 789px) 100vw, 789px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>&#13;\n\n\n\n<p>El Chalt\u00e9n can be visited on a day trip from El Calafate, but you can also base yourself there and explore even more of the region. There are dozens of trekking circuits and it is also possible to do activities, such as sport fishing, horseback riding or ice trekking, depending on the time of year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WHAT TO SEE IN EL CHALT\u00c9N:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We share with you all our recommendations to <a href=\"https:\/\/elchalten.tur.ar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visit El Chalt\u00e9n<\/a> in one day and make the most of the visit. All our options depart from El Calafate at 7:00 a.m. in a private vehicle. The return trip starts at 5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CHORRILLO DEL SALTO, CONDORS AND EAGLES VIEWPOINTS<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Once we <a href=\"https:\/\/tolkeyenpatagonia.com\/tours\/full-day-chalten\/\">arrive at El Chalt\u00e9n<\/a>, we head towards Chorrillo del Salto, located 4 km away and from there. You can enjoy the charming landscape and a natural 20-meter-high waterfall in the middle of the mountain range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After lunch, passengers may choose to hike the guided trails to the Condors Viewpoint and Las \u00c1guilas Viewpoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tolkeyenpatagonia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Full-Day-Chalten-Chorrillo-del-Salto-Mirador-de-C\u00f3ndores-\u00c1guilas-5-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12284\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FREE TREKKING<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>From El Chalt\u00e9n, we will visit Pud\u00fa Lodge and, from here, passengers will be able to hike the self-guided trails that lead to the most beautiful viewpoints of Fitz Roy or Torre Mountain (Capri Lagoon, Torre Viewpoint, etc.). We will advise on the different options depending on the physical condition of each passenger and we will provide maps of the trails<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"748\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tolkeyenpatagonia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/DSCN0710.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6505\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">VIEDMA LIGHT NAVIGATION<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Once we arrive in El Chalt\u00e9n, we will visit Chorrillo del Salto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After lunch, we will head to the port of Bah\u00eda T\u00fanel to begin a 2-hour navigation in front of the Viedma Glacier, currently the largest in the national park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DEL DESIERTO LAKE \/\/ VESPIGNANI GLACIER<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">After arriving in El Chalt\u00e9n, we will take Route 23 to get into the mountain range. We will arrive at Del Desierto Lake where we will embark to sail to Vespignani Reserve. In the Reserve, you can walk along a beautiful path, perfectly signposted, to the base of the glacier.
